Adan is 2 months old!!!

Adan just turned 2 months old. These photos were taken on the 24th of May- the day he turned 2 months old (we are counting weeks, Wednesday to Wednesday, which is more accurate than saying he's 2 months on the 28th. We'll start celebrating on the 28th of every March when he turns a year old.) He had his 2 month appointment today. He weighs 14.5 pounds and is 23.5 inches. The doctor said he is in tip-top shape. He had 3 shots and an oral vaccination. He did NOT like those at all. After a bit of Tylenol, though, he's sound asleep. Poor little man had a tough day!!! This is the giraffe his maw-maw got him. We'll take pictures of him on it every month until he's a year, and then every year on his birthday.

Memorial Day weekend

Miguel and I went to Texas for Memorial Day. We went down to the boardwalk near Galveston. We had so much fun. We ate at Landry's and got caught in a down-pour. Adan stayed dry, but by the time we got to the car Miguel and I were SOAKED. Here are some pictures from this weekend(it was incredibly windy):

Adan's first Relay for Life

Today started out rough- we went to the doctor for Adan's tummy ache. It turns out he has a viral infection, but I believe he is feeling better already. He'd been not feeling well since Monday. He got his blood drawn and he was NOT happy about that- to be honest neither was I! We came home and he rested all day. Miguel got home and we went for dinner and then we walked a lap at the Relay for Life in Lake Charles. We took these pictures:

Ollie and Adan

Ollie has become Adan's 'keeper.' Everywhere Adan is, Ollie has to be as well. If Adan is crying, Ollie runs around in circles until I can get to Adan and pick him up. Right now Adan is in his swing and Ollie is keeping a close eye on him on the couch. Every night he curls up next to Adan in our bed. They are going to be great friends!

Lunch with Jessica, Loretta and Kaylee

We went to lunch yesterday with Jessica and her precious little girl, Loretta, and Kaylee. We visited for awhile at O'Charley's and had a really good time. It was really nice to see Ms. Loretta for the first time. She is such a sweetheart.

My first mothers' day

Sunday was my first mother's day. It was a great day. We had stayed at Aunt Faye's house the night before. I woke up early and Miguel watched Adan while I took a very long wonderful bubble bath. Kaya was a big help with Adan. He helped us bathe him and get him dressed. After we got ready, we had brunch with the entire family. 38 people attended the brunch and Adan got passed around like the collection plate at church. He was so good. He never cried and enjoyed meeting the entire family. Afterwards we visited dad. It seemed like dad was happy to see Adan. Adan enjoyed being rocked in the rocking chair with dad. He fell asleep for a little while.
After we left dad's, we made our way home. It was another long day, but we had lots of fun.
This weekend Adan started smiling and laughing. That was the best mother's day present I ever could've gotten.

Terri's graduation and our trip to Pearl River

On Saturday we drove down for Terri's graduation. I am so proud of her! She got her Masters in Education. It was so good to see her finally get what she's worked so hard for. No one deserves this more than she does.

Adan slept through the entire graduation and was a complete angle the whole time. It was very loud in the coliseum, people clapping and air horns blaring, but he had no problems with it.
Towards the end he started getting hungry, so we headed out just a little early so we could get him some lunch.

Afterwards we met Leslie, Brian, Brice and Devin at Lees' Hamburgers. It's been a few years since we had a Lee's Hamburger. They are the BEST hamburgers in the world! We had a GREAT time! It's been 2 years since we last saw each other and it was my first time to meet Brice! Those boys are adorable!!! They are both so sweet. Devin was enamored with Adan. He sang the 'itsy bitsy spider' to Adan and even held his bottle for him! Leslie and I laughed like old times and it was so good to see her again. I miss spending time together, but am so happy that we do at least get to talk almost every day.

After Lee's, we went to Pearl River so Adan could meet Maw for the first time. It was really good to see her again. I think Adan really enjoyed meeting her!

While we were at Maw's, mom actually changed Adan's diaper. I'm so grateful that I had my camera handy. For those of you who know my mom, you know that diaper changing is NOT her forte. It was too funny.

It was a very long day for Adan and by 5:00, we were all beat. We stayed at Aunt Faye's house in Slidell. Mom and Roland stopped by for dinner. We all had po-boys and then it was time for Adan's bath. He fell asleep almost right away. He was so exhausted!

It was a wonderful day.
