I was playing with Adan in his room today and he was looking outside at the dogs. I kept showing him how he could look outside, by grabbing the edge of the crib and looking out. Well, I went to get the phone and look what I came back to. He is only 5 months old!!!

Another tooth and a baby shower

On the 24th, we got another bottom tooth. He woke up GRUMPY and stayed grumpy until about 11. I checked his gums to be sure another one wasn't popping through, and didn't feel anything. He fell asleep on me and I transferred him to his crib and he slept until 2. I went in to check on him and he smiled up at me and lo and behold there was another tooth. It's just a splinter, now, but when he chomps down on my finger (or worse LOL) I really feel both of them.

Also, on Saturday we went to a baby shower. It was alot of fun. He spent time with one of his girlfriends, Gidget. They are so cute together!!

What a day!!

Today was a busy day for Adan! He pulled himself to standing today AND I was massaging his gums and a TOOTH has broken through. You can feel it- it feels like a needle LOL. You can also see a tiny little white sliver popping through. It's his bottom right front tooth.

Our weekend

We had a really nice, relaxing weekend. We mostly stayed home and talked, watched tv and played some games. It was a nice change of pace. We did take lots of video and pictures of Adan.
He had a banana for the first time, and we discovered that he is ticklish. He also sat by himself for the first time Saturday! Here are some videos and pictures:

We have started using cloth diapers. These aint your grandma's cloth diapers!! These are by far much more absorbent than disposables. Not to mention CUTE!!!

19 weeks today

We had a very good day!! We enjoyed lunch with Kaylee, a shopping trip, and ended it all with a balloon release for all the APA Angels. All across the country (and some people in other countries) we released balloons in memory of babies taken too soon. It was very beautiful.

How do YOU do it?

Ok- I'm a bit confused. People ask me how old Adan is and I end up giving them two answers-

1- based on the day he was born- WEDNESDAY- I count the weeks- Wednesday to Wednesday. That's exactly 7 days, so a week. On the 15th of Aug he will be 20 weeks(5 months) old . This is how I'm counting it until he's a year old.

2- based on the DATE he was born (the 28th) he was 4 months on the 28th of July. That's almost a whole month's difference. That's obviously because there are more days in some months than others.

Of course, by the time I finished explaining his two "ages" people have lost interest and really don't care LOL

However, counting by weeks is more accurate, but doesn't seem to be the norm. I'm sure I'm the only person to have ever contemplated this problem, but I'm interested to hear what you think!

4 month appointment

Adan had his 4 month appointment Monday, the 30th. He is 16 lbs, 11 oz (80th percentile) and is 26 inches tall (80th percentile). He also got a round of vaccinations and yesterday he had a fever of 102 all day. We finally got his fever down today and have been watching the Yankees beat up on the White Sox.
