MOMMA!!!

Well, today Adan's official first word is MOMMA. He's said Momma a few times accidentally, but today was the first time he repeated me over and over and over again. I'm amazed how smart this little man is! I am so proud of him, I really am!

Adan won his first baby contest

We were at the mall and they were signing babies up for this little contest dealy. I signed him up. He actually won three trophies- one for Most Beautiful Smile, one for Most Angelic face, and a larger one as the first runner up for the over all competition.

It was fun, but I doubt we'll do it again... too much pressure LOL

My new wheels

I finally got fed up paying two car notes for one car (the actual car note and the GAS bill every month sheesh..).

Miguel and I have been looking around for quite some time for a mid-size car that will be good on gas mileage AND is pretty to look at LOL. I think we found it. I'm in love, anyway! It was such a blessing, too. We got a truly good deal for it.

So I brought Adan to the little play area at the mall today. He LOVES to watch the other children playing. I let him sit on the floor and look what he did!!!!









I couldn't stop crying and everybody looked at me like I was crazy (ok, so I was yelling YAY ADAN like a maniac), LOL. I told all the moms there that it was his first time and he got a round of applause LOL

So awesome!

And then there were five...

Teeth, that is.

Adan's top right popped through this morning. This kid's ready for steak! He's also started blowing bubbles and making "car" sounds. He started that yesterday. We were in the check out line and the lady was making gooey-eyes at him, talking baby talk to him and he just went "mrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmm" and then blew spit at her. Luckily she thought it was funny too, b/c I just burst out laughing.

He's a funny funny boy.

First call to Poison Control

I've been using Lysol wipes instead of the spray because I felt that the spray was a little more toxic. Well, apparently I dropped one and didn't realize it and Adan promptly picked it up and put it in his mouth. He got two good sucks from it before I could rip it out of his mouth. He thought it was funny. I did NOT. I called Poison Control and they said it's not poisonous, but is an irritant, so wash his hands really well..

This boy's gonna be the death of me!

It's a sad, sad day in America...

It's very hard for me to say this out loud. Heck, it's even hard for me to type it. I guess I'll just type it with my eyes closed- really fast, like a band-aid.....

The Yankees lost last night.

Ouch- that still hurt.


Not only did they loose the ALDS (American League Division Series) for the fourth straight year, but they lost it to the Cleveland Indians. I mean, in past years if you'd had said "Cleveland Indians," half of the US would have said "WHO?" but alas, they did win, and to be quite honest, I can't even say that it wasn't a fair fight. Cleveland just "brought it" and they really have a great ball club this year. I hope, since the Yanks won't be there, that they take it all the way this year.

Now, back to the Yanks, Last year Steinbrenner said that he was going to fire Torre because they had lost for the third straight year. Public outcry and threats by the Yankees bull pen steered him toward another year with Torre. Now, he's made it public that if the Yankees lost that series against the Indians, Torre was out.

That, in itself, is sad. He is an awesome manager and has been the Yankees' manager for 12 years. The players play for him as much as they do their (incredibly huge) paychecks and (incredibly vocal) fans.
My worry is that NY will lose some pivotal players like A-rod, Jorge Posada, and even Mariano Rivera if Torre is fired.

What's so ironic is that NY paid top dollar over the last 2 seasons for the best pitchers in the game (those being Randy Johnson and then Roger Clemmens) and they seemed to be the downfall of this ball club. It took a 21 year old rookie named Jobba Chamberlin to show em how it's done. A ROOKIE, making at least HALF that of the "big guns" producing at least twice the arm.

But I digress... this is a time for reflection and hope that Steinbrenner forgets his threats. It took 12 managers before Torre made winning look so easy and who knows how many more it will take to get back on that road.

Tooth number FOUR!

Adan has been fussy, which is unusual for him. I felt around in his mouth and sure enough, another tooth popped through. This is number four for him and guess what. It's a TOP one!! YAY!!! It's his top left front. I think I'm in trouble LOL

Look what Adan can do!

He's been able to pull himself to a sitting position for a few days. He has to be holding on to something, like my hands, though. He did THIS: yesterday! Video to follow- my camcorder battery was dead, but I did get a play-by-play with pictures!
